As if racing at Salem Speedway in his first ARCA Racing Series event wasn’t exciting enough, 21-year-old, Christopher Bell with Venturini Motorsports battled his way to victory in the Kentuckiana Ford Dealers 200 on Sunday afternoon. The win was not an easy task for the Bell, who also drives for Kyle Busch Motorsports in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.

Bell battled through a slick track with oil dry in the top groove, a shove from fellow competitor Justin Haley and a loss of power to win his debut race at Salem Speedway.  Continue reading

Timothy Peters finished Saturday’s fred’s 250 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Talladega Superspeedway exactly where he started—at the front of the pack—despite an extraordinary ebb and flow between the opening green flag and the checkers.

Peters was out front when NASCAR called the sixth caution of the race on the first lap of the only attempt at a green-white-checkered-flag finish, after contact between the trucks of John Wes Townley and Spencer Gallagher sent both crashing hard into the outside wall.

The victory was Peters’ first of the season, his second straight at Talladega and the ninth of his career. Continue reading

Brian Keselowski was a long shot to make it into the 2011 Daytona 500.

He and his No. 92 team posted the slowest qualifying speed on pole day and the team had a lot of work ahead of them. Keselowski started 24th in the second Gatorade Duel, the last position in the field.  His brother Brad was competing in the same duel.

Brian ran in the back for most of the race.

A popular way of racing during 2011 Speedweeks was the new tandem draft, when two cars would hook up and push each other around the track.

With 21 laps remaining, Brad got a bump from Todd Bodine and sent the No. 2 Miller Lite Dodge spinning. This forced Brad to come to pit road to fix some damage and start in the back on the ensuing restart. He happened to find his brother and the two stormed their way to the front.

With Brad’s help, Brian made the Daytona 500 by securing the second transfer spot with a fifth-place finish. After failing to make a race in three tries in 2010, Brian Keselowski finally made his Sprint Cup Series début in the 2011 Daytona 500.

A few days after the Duels, Brian received funding from Discount Tire, who came on as a sponsor for the No. 92 Dodge.

Brian started 12th in the Daytona 500, but the “Big One” took him out on lap 28, relegating him to a 41st place finish.

Brian Keselowski will not attempt the Daytona 500 on his own.

Brian Keselowski has partnered with Kelly Owens who is a partner with Hamilton Means Racing. The two sides will team up together for the Daytona 500 on February 24th. Keselowski announced earlier this year that he would attempt the Daytona 500 in his own No. 92 Toyota. But now he will drive the No. 52 Toyota with the new partnership. Continue reading

Recently, Brian Keselowski moved his team to Huntersville, NC in hopes of leading to more success and opportunities. One opportunity Keselowski hopes becomes a reality, is making the Daytona 500. He made the Daytona 500 in 2011 and has experience to lean on, but Keselowski hopes his team’s new location will also lead to a better result in 2013. Continue reading
