Earlier this week NASCAR introduced their new first-of-its-kind Fan and Media Engagement Center – FMEC – at NASCAR Plaza in Charlotte, NC.
Teams will have a second crack at Charlotte Motor Speedway with the Generation six car before the new season starts. Sprint Cup teams will test at Charlotte Thursday and Friday. Many more teams will be at Charlotte those two days, than the first test in mid December of 2012. There are 33 cars on the entry list for the test session, where drivers and crews should find out much more about the Generation six car and what they can do to improve with more drivers’ input. You won’t find the sterling silver Sprint Cup trophy made by Tiffany and Co. at the home of reigning champion Brad Keselowski.
“No, I don’t keep trophies at my house,”
Keselowski said during Tuesday’s test at Charlotte Motor Speedway,
“I don’t believe in building a shrine to myself. It’s kind of weird.”
This is why Keselowski will be a threat to repeat in 2013.
The Penske Racing driver doesn’t want to be reminded about what he has accomplished. He wants to work on building toward the future, and his two-day test at CMS is the first step in doing that. ESPN
Tuesday and Wednesday Sprint Cup teams got their first crack at the new “Generation Six” car since NASCAR released the official rulebook for 2013. Teams tested at Charlotte Motor Speedway for two days as they figured out their new race car.
