Seventeen Drivers Invited to 13th Drive for Diversity Combine at New Smyrna Speedway

Seventeen drivers from across the country will compete for spots in the top driver development program in motorsports, NASCAR Drive for Diversity, during a national tryout at Florida’s New Smyrna Speedway from Oct. 10-12.

The 13th annual NASCAR Drive for Diversity Combine invites promising ethnically diverse and female drivers from across North and South America to test their skills over a three-day period as NASCAR evaluates talent for the NASCAR Drive for Diversity Class of 2017. Continue reading

Future Stars Unveiled During NASCAR Next Announcement

Three Different Countries Represented in 2016-17 Class

Two are following in the footsteps of their former NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driving fathers. One is a long-time racer who competed on the reality television show “Survivor,” and later added a degree from Stanford University. Another is one of the fastest rising stock car drivers in the Midwest. There is even a pair of international phenoms.

From Charlotte to New York City, and from Quebec to Israel, the 11 drivers who were announced as the 2016-17 NASCAR Next class today are primed for a successful and impactful future in NASCAR. Calling Knoxville, Tennessee his home town and Bristol Motor Speedway his home track, NASCAR K&N Pro Series East driver, Chad Finchum captured his first series victory in the Pitt Lite 125 with Martin McClure Racing on Saturday night.

The local team is in their second season, with NASCAR XFINITY Series drivers Eric McClure and Hal Martin as team owners. Early last week they announced their plans for a part-time K&N East schedule this year, with Finchum first up in their No. 39 car at Bristol. Continue reading

NASCAR Weekend Preview – Greenville Pickens

 

NASCAR K&N Pro Series East competitors are heating up their battle for the championship title heading into their third race of the season, the Kevin Whitaker Chevrolet 150 at Greenville Pickens Speedway in South Carolina.  Competitors take to the track at 7 pm ET on Saturday, March 26th.

Spencer Davis and Tyler Dippel enter this weekend’s race with just one point difference. Davis, 17, from Dawsonville, Georgia, is at the top of the standings with 85 points after earning back-to-back runner-up finishes in the first two races of the season. In his six K&N East starts, Davis has finishes no lower than sixth place. Continue reading
