Fans of NASCAR Nationwide Series driver Travis Pastrana will get an opportunity to be up-close-and-personal with the X Games Champion when the driver of the No. 60 Ford for Roush Fenway Racing visits Darlington Raceway’s Jack Daniel’s Champions’ Club on Friday, May 10.

Pastrana will participate in a 15-minute question and answer session for fans that purchased the Jack Daniel’s Champions’ Club package for the Nationwide Series VFW Sport Clips Help a Hero 200 race. His appearance time is tentatively scheduled for 1:55 p.m. – 2:10 p.m. Continue reading

As it has annually for more than two decades, Charlotte Motor Speedway welcomed more than 150 track safety professionals over the weekend for a two-day training session to hone their skills and prepare for the upcoming race season.

Personnel from 10 NASCAR facilities – including Atlanta Motor Speedway, Bristol Motor Speedway, Charlotte Motor Speedway, Darlington Raceway, Homestead-Miami Speedway, Kentucky Speedway, Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Martinsville Speedway, New Hampshire Motor Speedway and Texas Motor Speedway – received hands-on safety training for all events at the speedway. Darlington Raceway Sprints Into History With New Book

Darlington Raceway has been part of the landscape of South Carolina and of NASCAR for over six decades and a new nostalgic book celebrates the history of the track through extraordinary vintage images.

From races run on dirt and clay to the paved speedways of today, the historic events, colorful characters, and memorable moments of “The Lady in Black” are revealed in more than 200 vintage images.

Author Cathy Elliott sees Darlington Raceway as “more than just a race track that comes alive once a year,” and describes why many locals consider the speedway part of the family. “Darlington is an integral member of her community, part of its very identity. Everyone in town has at least one story about the track,” Elliott said. Continue reading
