Typically burnouts are not done when its raining, but that didn’t keep Brad Keselowski from trying, after winning the Feed the Children 300 at Kentucky Speedway on Friday night.

After a rain delay, NASCAR declared Brad Keselowski the winner, 30 laps short of the scheduled finish.  And despite the rain, Keselowski did donuts on a wet slippery frontstretch  without the usual smoke cloud signaling his victory celebration.  Continue reading

Another outstanding and dominant performance by Kyle Busch led him to victory lane Friday night at Darlington. He remained up front in the VFW Sport Clips Help A Hero 200 for most of the night and by the time the checkered flag fell, he was the leader.

This is Busch’s fifth Nationwide Series victory of the season and his seventh NASCAR win so far in 2013. Busch proved how dominant he is in this race and may only be a warm-up for what will come in tomorrow’s Cup race.

Other than a few cautions, this race went by fairly quickly. Busch led for about the first 50 laps before his teammate, Matt Kenseth, beat him off of pit-road to snag the lead. The caution that set up the lead change, featured another of Busch’s teammates, Elliot Sadler. Sadler spun between turns one and two, but that didn’t slow him down as he ended the night finishing second. Continue reading

All night long it was Brad Keselowski, Kevin Harvick, and Kyle Busch battling up-front. The drivers exchanged the lead multiple times over the course of the race. When it was all said and done, Keselowski emerged victorious. All three drivers held the lead at some point with less than 35 laps to go, but the last pass for the lead Keselowski made with ten laps to go led him to victory. It wasn’t a dominant performance by Keselowski, but it was good enough to get him to victory lane. Continue reading

Brian Scott may have found the home he’s been looking for to get his NASCAR career jump started. In what is now his fourth full Nationwide Series season, 2013 is the year that Scott needs to show he belongs, and so far he’s doing just that. Paying dividends is an off-season move from Joe Gibbs Racing to Richard Childress Racing

Scott began driving early on for Braun Racing in 2009 and 2010 and then later the power house Joe Gibbs Racing in 2011 and 2012. While Scott did have limited success along the way, it was never consistent and Scott never seemed able to take advantage of the highly successful program that Gibbs has in place for the Nationwide Series. Crashes have marred many events along the way, which have eliminated potential for higher finishes throughout the course of a given season. Continue reading
