Like any good Hollywood drama, the story elements that make up “Snake & Mongoo$e” are almost too good to be true, and yet, they are true. While the over-arching scope of their rivalry was known in racing circles, even there, the context and depth and motivations behind that story were missing. Journalist Alan Paradise was among the first to realize the cinematic possibilities in the story when he was working on a documentary about the Snake and Mongoo$e after years covering their world as an automotive journalist. ‘Hot Rod’ Bob Beck, the Voice of Racing Since 1974

Bob Beck entered the auto industry as did many young men, by working in gas stations when in high school.

In college, Bob major was in Speech and Broadcasting, earning his degree and an Occupational certificate in radio and TV broadcasting. He also attended Columbia School of Broadcasting and was regularly heard on the Kaleidoscope network with his auto show G.A.A.S.(Great American Auto Show) and local cable TV in Bakersfield, CA. on the show Gettin Sideways.  Continue reading
