Texas, Iowa NASCAR Weekend Preview is presented by host Sharon Burton and co-host Jay Husmann. Join us as rev up NASCAR fans for the upcoming weekend of racing. Then stick around for Hot Topics Sound Off with co-host Andy Laskey and the Fan4Racing crew!

The Agenda

This episode centers around Texas Motor Speedway for the NASCAR Cup, Xfinity, and Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series along with the ARCA Menards Series at Iowa Speedway.  We’ll also give a review of the Cup Series Open and All-Star races at Bristol Motor Speedway. Updates from the ARCA East and West and pre-race audio from drivers are given as time permits.

  • First, we give a review of the Cup Series Open and All-Star Race at Bristol with the preview for the ARCA Menards Series at Iowa. 
  • Next, we preview the NASCAR Gander & RV Outdoors Truck Series in Texas.
  • Then, our preview continues with the NASCAR Xfinity Series in Texas
  • Then, we preview the NASCAR Cup Series in Texas
  • Next is Hot Topics Sound Off with the Fan4Racing Crew.

Sam Mayer earned his second victory of the 2019 season on Friday night at Iowa Speedway, leading all but eight laps from the pole en route to the victory.

David Hyatt: Iowa Speedweeks is About the Fans

Former president of MRN radio, David Hyatt knows what it takes to give the fans what they want after 20 plus years at the helm.  He brings that same mentality to his current role as president of Iowa Speedway, now in just his second full season in the position.  With the races in 2019 scheduled the way they were, the race track ended up with doubleheader race weekends back-to-back, making for a very busy couple of weeks hosting the NTT Indy Car Series, the ARCA Menards Series last week and both the K&N Pro Series and Xfinity Series under the NASCAR banner this week.  But as the saying goes, sometimes you have to make lemonade from the lemons you are given and Hyatt saw this as an opportunity to maximize fan interaction, thus Iowa Speedweeks was born.
