CJ Faison – Beyond Being a NASCAR Driver

At the early age of five years-old, CJ Faison started racing go-carts and hasn’t looked back  while leaving his competition in the dust. Faison is not your average 19 year-old race car driver, CJ is also manager of his race team JMI Motorsports.

A normal day for CJ is managing money, buying equipment, getting his NASCAR race cars ready, as well as travel arrangements for his team. Faison blows his competition out of the water when it comes to management as well as driving. Continue reading

Michael Self Takes Win in East-West K&N Pro Series Race at Iowa

First K&N West Driver Takes Overall Victory in Combo Race
Michael Self continued his winning ways Friday night at Iowa Speedway.

The 22-year-old from Park City, Utah, pulled away from the NASCAR K&N Pro Series field en route to the win in the Casey’s General Store 150. It was Self’s second straight win, his fifth in his last 14 races, and he became the first NASCAR K&N Pro Series West driver to win the annual combination race with the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East. Sport’s Young Rising Stars Spotlighted

Filled with prospects coming from Nevada to Georgia, from Canada to Mexico, and a number of hometowns in between, NASCAR unveiled today the 2013 driver roster for the NASCAR Next program at Iowa Speedway in Newton, Iowa.

NASCAR Next, an evolution of the Next9 initiative that began in 2011, is an overarching industry initiative to help spotlight NASCAR’s rising stars – and bolster fan recognition around talent that will grow into NASCAR Sprint Cup Series mainstays. In addition to competing on various NASCAR series across the country, drivers in the program will participate in several media and promotional activities throughout the next 12 months.  Continue reading
