2016 NASCAR Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony Honors Five of Sport’s Greatest

Cook, Isaac, Labonte, Smith, Turner Officially Enshrined

Five of NASCAR’s iconic figures – four drivers and one motorsports entrepreneur – were enshrined into the NASCAR Hall of Fame in Charlotte, North Carolina this afternoon during the Induction Ceremony held in the Crown Ball Room at the Charlotte Convention Center.

Those who added their names to the list of now 35 NASCAR Hall of Fame inductees, included: Jerry Cook, Bobby Isaac, Terry Labonte, O. Bruton Smith and Curtis Turner. Continue reading →

Harvick Needs More Wins to Regain the Sprint Cup Title in 2016

Being a defending Sprint Cup Series champion is never easy.

Once a driver becomes champion, they have a huge target on their back. The wins are harder to come by when the new season begins, and the same strategy from last year doesn’t work this year.

For Kevin Harvick in the 2015 season, he easily could have had more wins. Not because he was in the wrong place at the wrong time, but because he finished second more times than any driver last season. And that is just not rewarding enough. Harvick has 12 second place finishes against three wins and that doesn’t seem to sit well for Harvick as he heads into this season. Continue reading →

Pocono Raceway has recently installed longer walls along pit road after Kasey Kahne and Jeb Burton spun out in the exact location off turn three and on pit road during practice and the start of the Windows 10 400 back in late August. Both Burton and Kahne had hit nearly the same area in consecutive days. It was Kahne who had the bigger hit when he not only hit the pit road wall, he also sent helmets and other equipment flying. Kyle Busch Completes Comeback with Victory, Championship at Homestead

Finishing off one of the most remarkable comebacks in NASCAR history—indeed, in the annals of sport—Kyle Busch won Sunday’s Ford EcoBoost 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway and, with it, his first NASCAR Sprint Cup Series championship.

Absent from the first 11 races of the season because of a broken right leg and left foot sustained in the NASCAR XFINITY Series opener at Daytona in February, Busch pulled away from fellow Championship Round driver Kevin Harvick after a restart with seven laps left and crossed the finish line 1.553 seconds ahead of the defending series champion.
