Bristol Motor Speedway has always featured the most unique driver introductions on the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series circuit, but 2016 takes it to a whole new level with the addition of Colossus TV.

The sights and sounds of each driver selecting their own songs was presented on the world’s largest, outdoor, center-hung, four-sided video display. Whether it was seeing Clint Bowyer get crazy with Goldberg during a or watching Joey Logano walk out to “White and Nerdy” by Weird Al, Colossus TV was a major asset to pre-race.

Carl Edwards chose Bon Jovi’s “Have a Nice Day” after claiming the pole for Sunday’s Food City 500. His teammate Matt Kenseth is the defending race winner and started second, so his walkout song “Back for More” by Five Finger Death Punch fit. Continue reading

There’s some NASCAR history behind JD Motorsports with Gary Keller and as happens so often, that history is an interesting part of their NASCAR inter-woven fabric that has led them to what the organization is today.

This season, the organization has fielded three cars, the No. 01 with Landon Cassill, the No. 4 with Ross Chastain and the No. 0 with Harrison Rhodes. Other drivers behind the wheel of their cars this season include, ARCA Racing Series veteran Bobby Gerhart, a former K&N West winning driver, Michael Self, and GTS Champion Lawson Aschenbach.

However, it is co-owner and founder Johnny Davis, as in the ‘JD’ in JD Motorsports with Gary Keller with an interesting story behind their organization as they head into the last race of their 2015 season at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Even recent history has a way of becoming faded and forgotten, so this quick trip down memory lane will refresh an interesting journey behind the organization.  Continue reading

You could call polesitter Denny Hamlin’s victory in Saturday’s VFW Sport Clips Help a Hero 200 at Darlington Raceway ‘dominating,’ but the NASCAR XFINITY Series event wasn’t without its share of drama—courtesy of a fuel shortage and Hamlin’s own Joe Gibbs Racing teammate, Daniel Suarez.

Hamlin Led 117 of 147 laps at the 1.366-mile speedway, but he didn’t make the winning pass until lap 145, when he surged past Suarez, who was stretching fuel after foregoing a final pit stop in hopes of stealing the victory. Continue reading
