NASCAR D4D CombineLangley Speedway’s repaving last winter provided an added challenge for the 20 drivers participating in the 2013 NASCAR Drive for Diversity Combine. Not only did the already tough .4-mile oval get faster, it meant even the drivers who had previously competed in the Combine there faced new conditions.

NASCAR D4D CombineTwenty drivers arrived in Hampton, Va., eager to show off their driving skills at the 2013 Drive For Diversity Combine. First, though, they were put through the paces Monday with the equally important off-track assessments at Hampton University.

This is the third year the NASCAR Drive for Diversity program – created in 2004 and now executed by Rev Racing – has partnered with Hampton. The NASCAR D4D program is designed to identify and train young female and diverse drivers at the grassroots level who demonstrate necessary talent to climb the ranks within the motorsport industries.  Continue reading

NASCAR D4D Combine20 Drivers Slated To Compete For 2014 Seat With Rev Racing 

As the NASCAR Drive for Diversity program approaches its ten-year anniversary, NASCAR and Rev Racing have selected the participants for the 2013 NASCAR Drive for Diversity Combine. The drivers will participate in a rigorous on- and off-track evaluation process for the opportunity to join the NASCAR D4D program and compete for Rev Racing during the 2014 season. The combine will be held at Langley Speedway in Hampton, Va., from Oct. 21-23.  Continue reading

Rough Night for Rev Racing at Iowa Speedway

RR_logoIt was a disappointing weekend for Rev Racing at Iowa Speedway, where Ryan Gifford had hopes of a top-five finish but came home 33rd due to a flat tire late in the race. Gifford (@RyanGifford2) had the second fastest car in the final practice and qualified well. He was ready to have a strong night after his win at Richmond, a track with similarities to Iowa Speedway. CE Falk was recently thrust into the spotlight this past week, but not in the way he anticipated while leading the Whelen All-American Series race as part of the UNOH Battle at the Beach on Monday night. With some hard racing in the final lap of the race, he was the recipient of a bump ‘n run move followed by a controversial spin by race winner Kyle Larson.

Following the race and despite the disappointing loss, CE Falk handled the incident well, but knew he had just cashed out the expense of a damaged car versus cashing in with another well-earned victory for him and his team. Continue reading
