Limited Commemorative Water Tower Souvenirs Available Race Weekend

$10 donation to benefit Auto Club Speedway Foundation

Auto Club Speedway will make available a limited number of souvenirs commemorating the Speedway Water Tower, which stood for more than 75 years before being removed in late 2013.

A very limited number of Water Tower shaped tubes containing actual concrete remnants of the tower — numbered 1 through 500 – will be available to fans during Auto Club 400 Weekend at Auto Club Speedway March 21-23 while they last.

The replica cylinders will be sold at the Gate D ticket office located at the West End of the Speedway just outside the Tunnel.  Cost will be $10 CASH ONLY with proceeds benefiting the Auto Club Speedway Foundation.  Any units remaining after race weekend will be made available for purchase online through the Auto Club Speedway ticketing system.

No. 99 NASCAR Nationwide Series Team Penalized for Rules Violation at Bristol Motor Speedway.

The No. 99 team that competes in the NASCAR Nationwide Series has been penalized as a result of a rules violation committed during the event at Bristol Motor Speedway.

During the race on March 15, the No. 99 car committed a P3 level penalty by violating Sections 12-1 (actions detrimental to stock car racing) and 20A-2.3A (added car weight; improperly attached weight; loss of weight during the event) of the 2014 NASCAR rule book. As a result, crew chief Chris Rice has been fined $10,000 and placed on NASCAR probation until Dec. 31. In addition, car chief John Guerra has also been placed on NASCAR probation until Dec. 31.
