When the Kansas Speedway reconfigured their track surface, before last October’s race, they created a track that could feature some action-packed and intense racing. Drivers attempted to figure-out their way around the new surface of the mile-and-a-half track last October, and left with some knowledge and mainly torn up sheet-metal. The race featured multiple incidents and went down in the history books as one of the most exciting races in the history of the Kansas Speedway. Penske Racing Penalized by NASCAR
The punishment has been dealt to the No. 2 & 22 teams of Penske Racing after their actions at Texas Motor Speedway. Both crew chiefs, Paul Wolfe and Todd Gordon, have been suspended and fined. Drivers, Joey Logano and Brad Keselowski, have also been penalized after the teams’ actions at Texas.
The penalties handed down to Penske Racing from NASCAR involves drivers and crew. Saturday, NASCAR confiscated the rear-end housing off both the No. 2 and 22 cars hours before the race. According to NASCAR, the rules broken by Penske Racing were in violation of section 12-1; 12-4J and 20-12. Continue reading

Apparently there is a rumored back-story to the Penske rear-end housing parts taken by NASCAR officials at Texas Motor Speedway this past weekend. And this rumor may, at least in part, be what Keselowski is referring to when he said,
“You have no idea what this team has endured in the last seven days…”
And perhaps, what the Penske teams have endured is for longer than seven days. This story may actually have started when the season ended in 2012 and re-started in Daytona 2013. Continue reading
Keselowski Responds to NASCAR Confiscation of Penske Team Car Parts
2012 Sprint Cup champion, Brad Keselowski and his teammate Joey Logano, both Penske racing drivers, had parts confiscated by NASCAR before the Sprint Cup race at Texas Motor Speedway.
In an inspection about an hour before the scheduled start of the race, NASCAR officials required both Keselowski and Logano teams to replace rear-end housing parts around the suspension area of their cars.
