There Was No Denying Kevin Harvick in Phoenix

There are some days when a driver dominates and then there are some when a driver annihilates the field. Kevin Harvick had a stellar day in the desert on Sunday. Once he got out front early in the event, he didn’t look back for a second. He was able to control the race and at the end of the day, that put him in victory lane for the third time in the last four Phoenix races. His sponsor Jimmy John’s has the catch phrase “freaky-fast” which describes their service, but in this race it was describing the man behind the wheel. Continue reading

Kyle Busch Dominates Rain-Shortened Nationwide Race at Phoenix

You can change the cars.

You can change the qualifying format.

You can change the weather from cloudy to sunny to rainy—multiple times.

But, no matter what you do, you can’t keep Kyle Busch out of Victory Lane at Phoenix International Raceway, at least not where the NASCAR Nationwide Series is concerned.

In Saturday’s Blue Jeans Go Green 200 at the one-mile track in the Sonoran desert, Busch dominated—again—leading 155 laps en route to his unprecedented third straight NNS victory at PIR and his seventh overall. Continue reading

Sprint Cup Series teams are at Phoenix International Raceway this weekend for The Profit on CNBC 500 presented by Small Business Fueling America taking place on Sunday, March 2nd for 312 laps of racing action. Suárez Overcomes Penalty to Grab Fourth Consecutive Victory

After a pit road mistake, Daniel Suárez comes back with a last lap pass to win the Toyota 120 at Phoenix International Raceway.

After starting from the outside pole position, Suárez wasted no time in racing around pole sitter Rubén Pardo and holding the lead until his stop for fuel on lap 46. That’s when Suárez was speeding on pit road, with a resulting pass-through penalty placing him at the end of the field.  Continue reading
