Kyle Busch Leads Every Lap and Wins Nationwide Race at Richmond

Coors Light Polesitter Kyle Busch led all 250 laps in Friday night’s Virginia529 College Savings 250 NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Richmond International Raceway and beat runner-up and series leader Chase Elliott to the finish line by 1.323 seconds.

Driving a No. 54 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota that was the clear class of the field, Busch won for the fourth time this season, the fifth time at Richmond and the series-best 67th time in his career.

It was the second time Busch has led every lap in a Nationwide Series race, the first coming at Phoenix in 2011 when he led 200 laps after starting from the pole. Continue reading

Edging out German Quiroga by 0.50 seconds, Ryan Blaney wins the Chevrolet Silverado 250 at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park/Mosport on Sunday afternoon. In the closing laps the two raced door-to-door exchanging the lead all the way to the end with Blaney making the last pass for the lead in the final stretch just before the finish line for the victory.  Continue reading

15 Different Winners And Counting; Record Is 18   

The NASCAR Nationwide Series has reached its highest level of competitive balance in more than a decade. Ryan Blaney, 20, became the 15th different series winner this past weekend at Bristol Motor Speedway, the most through 23 races since 2001. The overall series record for most different winners in a full season is 18, set in 1988.

This season has ten races remaining on the series schedule and the record of 18 could very well be matched. Already, this season has seen five first-timers  with Kyle Larson, Chase Elliott, Brendan Gaughan, Ty Dillon and Chris Buescher. Other than the inaugural Nationwide Series season the record for first-time winners is six.

Ryan Blaney Holds Off Busch for Thrilling Bristol Win

Part-time driver for Team Penske scores second career Nationwide Series win.

Ryan Blaney swept past Kyle Busch on a restart with seven laps to go and held on to win Friday night’s rain-delayed Food City 300 at Bristol Motor Speedway.

Until the last restart, Busch appeared dominant and on his way to his seventh win in his last nine NASCAR Nationwide Series starts at Bristol. Continue reading
