Saturday’s race was a début for the series at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course and NASCAR fans were ready in the Buckeye State.  Track management said the turnout Saturday was the best for the track so far this season.

AJ Allmendinger spent most of Saturday afternoon in front, then held on for an extra few laps to earn his second career NASCAR Nationwide Series victory in the Nationwide Children’s Hospital 200 at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. Continue reading

Nationwide Series drivers début their first 203.22 mile, 90 lap race at Mid-Ohio on Saturday, August 17th with a green flag at 2:30pm ET. The Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course is the series’ second road course event in two weeks and television coverage begins at 2pm on ESPN with radio coverage on MRN and Sirius XM channel 90.

After Saturday’s race at Watkins Glen, only 74-points separate the top-ten drivers in the point standings. Tenth-place Parker Kligerman could theoretically make up the difference in only two races, although that’s not likely.  Continue reading

Brad Keselowski made a busy weekend well worth the trouble. The defending NASCAR Sprint Cup champion was the lone driver making frequent trips between Central Iowa and Pocono Raceway.

Keselowski will be toting a gas pump trophy back with him after winning the Fifth Annual NASCAR Nationwide Series US Cellular 250 Saturday night at Iowa Speedway. He has won the last three Nationwide starts he has made for Penske Racing, despite not having a Sprint cup victory this season. Continue reading
