There are some days when a driver dominates and then there are some when a driver annihilates the field. Kevin Harvick had a stellar day in the desert on Sunday. Once he got out front early in the event, he didn’t look back for a second. He was able to control the race and at the end of the day, that put him in victory lane for the third time in the last four Phoenix races. His sponsor Jimmy John’s has the catch phrase “freaky-fast” which describes their service, but in this race it was describing the man behind the wheel. Continue reading

Sprint Cup Series The Profit on CNBC 500 at Phoenix Preview

Sprint Cup Series teams are at Phoenix International Raceway this weekend for The Profit on CNBC 500 presented by Small Business Fueling America taking place on Sunday, March 2nd for 312 laps of racing action. Television coverage begins at 2:30 pm ET on FOX with the green flag waving around 3 pm ET. Race coverage is also available on MRN and SiriusXM channel 90.  Continue reading

Wendell Scott Decal Sported by Four NASCAR Series at Phoenix

Since 2010, NASCAR has designated the first race weekend in March as a time to commemorate Wendell Scott’s first career start. Scott is the only African- American driver to win a Grand National (now Sprint Cup) Series event in NASCAR history.

Cars in all four NASCAR series competing at Phoenix International Raceway (NASCAR K&N Pro Series West, NASCAR Mexico Toyota Series, NASCAR Nationwide Series and NASCAR Sprint Cup Series) will sport a commemorative decal.

The decals will be applied to the B or C post of each vehicle during the inspection processes throughout the entire weekend.

Throwback Thursday: Davey Allison Leaves Phoenix with Points Lead

Davey Allison’s 1992 season started off with a bang. The 31-year-old driver won the season opening Daytona 500 for Robert Yates Racing. It was the start to a great season.

Along the way, he picked up wins at North Wilkesboro and Talladega in the spring and Michigan in June. No other win was more prominent than the Winston in May, featuring a last-lap duel between Allison, Dale Earnhardt and Kyle Petty. Continue reading
