Gearing Up for Race Weekend at Richmond with Dennis Bickmeier

Some of the best short-track racing in the world occurs at the Richmond International Raceway. Twice a year, fans pour into the facility to witness classic short-track racing and to see the stars of NASCAR do what they do best. It takes many people to run the show, but Track President Dennis Bickmeier oversees the entire facility. He is just as excited as race fans for the upcoming race weekend and expects fans to have a great experience. In addition to all the great things the track has had in the past, they have added even more for this season.

Fresh off a fourth-place finish in NASCAR’s most recent Sprint Cup Series race, driver Greg Biffle gets near a vehicle traffic line in hopes of obtaining tickets to the most competitive race track in NASCAR – Talladega Superspeedway – for the Aaron’s 499 on Sunday, May 5. Biffle, who was fifth in last year’s spring classic on the unique 2.66-mile track, will be a favorite again this year. Kansas Speedway STP 400 Preview

When the Kansas Speedway reconfigured their track surface, before last October’s race, they created a track that could feature some action-packed and intense racing. Drivers attempted to figure-out their way around the new surface of the mile-and-a-half track last October, and left with some knowledge and mainly torn up sheet-metal. The race featured multiple incidents and  went down in the history books as one of the most exciting races in the history of the Kansas Speedway. Fans are hoping for a repeat performance when NASCAR’s Generation Six cars take to the track this weekend and they likely won’t be disappointed. Continue reading
