2016 NASCAR Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony Honors Five of Sport’s Greatest

Cook, Isaac, Labonte, Smith, Turner Officially Enshrined

Five of NASCAR’s iconic figures – four drivers and one motorsports entrepreneur – were enshrined into the NASCAR Hall of Fame in Charlotte, North Carolina this afternoon during the Induction Ceremony held in the Crown Ball Room at the Charlotte Convention Center.

Those who added their names to the list of now 35 NASCAR Hall of Fame inductees, included: Jerry Cook, Bobby Isaac, Terry Labonte, O. Bruton Smith and Curtis Turner. Continue reading

Tony Stewart Looks for Positive Ending to Sprint Cup Series Career

Ever since Tony Stewart won his last Sprint Cup Series championship in 2011, life has been awful rocky. Stewart let his crew chief, Darian Grubb, go after the 2011 season and picked up Steve Addington as his crew chief. He won three races in 2012, but was nowhere near the success he had, finishing ninth in points. With only three wins, 12 top-five and 16 top-ten finishes, Stewart’s downward spiral had actually begun. But not in the way anyone could have ever imagined. Continue reading

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Tony Stewart is gearing up for his last season, after announcing his retirement, late last year. Stewart has said he’d love to return to his roots and race again on dirt after the 2016 season is complete. Although it will be interesting to see how Stewart does with the new downforce package this year, many are wondering how Stewart’s last season in the Cup series will unfold. Will he go out on a high or will he continue as he has the last couple of seasons and run middle of the pack?

The story of how this season will end for Stewart has several more months to play out. But unfolding over the weekend is how Stewart’s season will begin. Most likely Stewart will once again be bombarded by media wanting to get his perspective on the incident at the Chili Bowl Nationals with a fan in the stands. Here was hoping that the 2016 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season would start positive. Kyle Busch defending his newly won Sprint Cup Championship, Chase Elliott now the replacement for Jeff Gordon. Even looking forward to Brian Scott and XFINITY Series Champion Chris Buescher  succeeding at the top-level. Plus Clint Bowyer racing for one season for HScott Motorsports, as he is the driver in waiting to take the seat of a Stewart-Haas Racing driver who once again was in the wrong place at the wrong time.
