Pattern Of Parity At Sonoma

No claims here as Albert Einstein or Stephen Hawking; anyone watching has noticed the pattern of parity at Sonoma Raceway.

It’s no secret that up to this point of the season, NASCAR Sprint Cup drivers have been unhappy with the current rules package for their cars. The new aerodynamics package for the 2015 has produced sub par racing for several drivers and they have no fear in expressing to NASCAR their desire for change.

The first evidence of the unhappiness from the drivers began when we learned of the newly formed, ‘Driver’s Council’ as reported in early June. Drivers include but are not limited to, Jeff Gordon, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Kevin Harvick, Kyle Larson, Joey Logano, Tony Stewart and Denny Hamlin.

Brad Keselowski – Both Penske cars are on a roll when it comes to restrictor plate racing. Keselowski won at Talladega in the fall and Logano won the Daytona 500 this year. Just personally have a good feeling about Keselowski this weekend. Continue reading

Earlier this season Ryan Reed became the seventh driver in series history to get his first NASCAR XFINITY Series career win at a superspeedway.

Who’s next?

Of the seven drivers who posted their first series career win at a superspeedway, only two have done it at Talladega – David Ragan (2009) and Greg Sacks (1996). The remaining five first-time winners all claimed their first victory at Daytona – Ryan Reed (2015), James Buescher (2012), Tony Stewart (2005), Chad Little (1995) and Dale Earnhardt (1982).  Continue reading
