Bayne Steals Nationwide Series Win at Iowa Speedway

It may have taken awhile, but the race ended in triumph for Trevor Bayne. After two rain-delays, the Nationwide Series Race at Iowa Speedway finally ran in its entirety on Sunday morning and afternoon. It looked like Austin Dillon was going to run away with the race, but a late race battle sent Bayne to the top spot and Dillon had to settle for second. The race had a decent amount of action and ended with a familiar car doing a burn-out on the frontstretch – the no. 6 car. Continue reading

Sport’s Young Rising Stars Spotlighted

Filled with prospects coming from Nevada to Georgia, from Canada to Mexico, and a number of hometowns in between, NASCAR unveiled today the 2013 driver roster for the NASCAR Next program at Iowa Speedway in Newton, Iowa.

NASCAR Next, an evolution of the Next9 initiative that began in 2011, is an overarching industry initiative to help spotlight NASCAR’s rising stars – and bolster fan recognition around talent that will grow into NASCAR Sprint Cup Series mainstays. In addition to competing on various NASCAR series across the country, drivers in the program will participate in several media and promotional activities throughout the next 12 months.  Continue reading

There will be more on the line June 28 during the NASCAR Nationwide Series Feed the Children 300 at Kentucky Speedway than most races.

This year, the Kentucky race will be the qualifier for the “Dash 4 Cash,” the beginning of the popular NASCAR Nationwide Series program that could result in a $1 million payout to one talented driver. Kentucky will determine the four eligible drivers that could win one of the four $100,000 payouts that make up the program beginning July 5 at Daytona. Continue reading
