The NASCAR Monster Energy Cup Series ran at Richmond Raceway Sunday night for another short track battle. The Toyota Owners 400 was a tight fight under the lights as the drivers jostled for rank. The cars looked sharp but up close they were bruised up from racing hard.
RICHMOND, Va. – Saturday night’s victory in the Toyota Owners 400 at Richmond Raceway was a first for Martin Truex Jr.—and more of the same for Joe Gibbs Racing.
DAYTONA BEACH, Florida – He may not win all the time, though considering the frequency in which Kyle Busch does visit Victory Lane it certainly creates the impression that the Joe Gibbs Racing driver is omnipresent in the winner’s circle.
The cars of Team Penske teammates Joey Logano, Brad Keselowski and Ryan Blaney were among the best for much of the Food City 500 and two of the three – Logano and Blaney – finished third and fourth respectively. Combined, the trio led 344 of the race’s 500 laps.
