Crew Chief Swap Is Expected To Turn Season Around For RCR

Starting this weekend at Daytona International Speedway, the crew chiefs for Richard Childress Racing’s No. 3 and 33 cars will look a little different. That’s because they are switching between the teams; a good old-fashioned swap. In first XFINITY race since accident, Kyle Busch wins at Michigan

In his first NASCAR XFINITY Series race back from a broken right leg and left foot, Kyle Busch proved conclusively that he hasn’t lost a step.

Taking advantage of contact between the Chevrolet of Kevin Harvick and the Ford of polesitter Joey Logano—as those two drivers were battling for the lead—Busch passed Chase Elliott for the lead on lap 122 of 125 and held on to win Saturday’s Great Clips 250 at Michigan International Speedway. Roush Fenway Racing’s NASCAR XFINITY Series lineup is full of young talent, with Darrell ‘Bubba’ Wallace Jr. competing for Sunoco Rookie of the Year Honors and second-year drivers Ryan Reed and Chris Buescher posting wins this season. Bolstering their strong lineup is veteran NASCAR driver Elliott Sadler.

Three Wins and Counting

Roush Fenway Racing is making moves in the XFINITY Series 12 races into this season. Ryan Reed with one and Chris Buescher with two, have three victories this season, the most wins for the organization since 2012 when Ricky Stenhouse Jr. with six and Carl Edwards with one, raked in seven victories.

The organization has its entire NASCAR XFINITY Series contingent on the rise with all four drivers in the top-ten point standings. Chris Buescher is the current leader, Darrell Wallace Jr ranks fifth, Elliott Sadler occupies the sixth spot and Ryan Reed mans the eighth position at this point of the season. Continue reading
