The 2016 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series is full of optimism and positivity, since there have been a lot of changes since 2015 ended. Jeff Gordon was able to drive off into the sunset on his own terms as he is now ready for his next chapter with NASCAR on FOX. Tony Stewart was looking for the same outcome while preparing for his farewell tour in 2016. Since Michael Waltrip Racing announced they were closing their doors back in August, we knew a lot of crew members and other employees would be out of work once the season ended. The organization allowed drivers Clint Bowyer and David Ragan to find rides elsewhere even during the season. So far, Bowyer has signed a one-year deal with HScott Motorsports in 2016 while being the replacement driver in waiting for Tony Stewart in 2017. As of now, Ragan is still looking for a new ride. For the last 25 years, Bill McAnally Racing with NAPA Auto Parts have been a pillars within the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West and this past season is no exception, with his teams often contending for wins and ending their season with their sixth series championship with Chris Eggleston. Teammate Brandon McReynolds made series history as the first West driver to win both East-West combination events at Iowa Speedway this season.
Bill McAnally Racing has an impressive run with NAPA for the last 25 years with over 60 victories and now six K&N West championships. The McAnally organization has reached beyond the K&N Pro Series also holding titles locally in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series and Rookie of the Year honors with the Camping World Truck Series in 2002. McAnally and NAPA have also taken on title sponsorship in a myriad of K&N Pro Series West races and are now taking their efforts to the East series the last couple of years.

Logano Advances to Eliminator 8 Round with Win at Charlotte
Joey Logano led 227-of-334 laps on his way to Victory Lane in Sunday’s Bank of America 500 at Charlotte Motor Speedway to become the first driver to advance to the Eliminator 8 Round of the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup.
The No. 22 Ford driver becomes a member of the Eliminator 8 by winning the Contender Round opener for the second straight season. Last year, he won the first Contender Round race at Kansas Speedway – the site of Sunday’s Hollywood Casino 400. In 12 starts at Kansas, Logano owns one win, four top-fives and four top-tens. He has logged a top-five showing in his last four starts at the 1.5-mile track.
Logano’s checkered flag was his first at Charlotte. His previous best Queen City finish was third in 2011.
On the season, Logano ranks tied with Kevin Harvick for the Sprint Cup Series lead in top-tens with 24. His five Coors Light Pole Awards are the most in the series. Continue reading →
