The Chase Countdown Challenge Continues for Sprint Cup Drivers

Five races on five very different tracks give NASCAR Sprint Cup drivers a challenge as they countdown to the Chase. 

That’s what faces the Sprint Cup Series and the 2014 Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup. For 11 drivers, it’s all or nothing time. For those 11 drivers with wins – and a likely Chase spot – a victory means three more bonus points tacked on their total to start the Chase.

But, really, these next five races are all about those with no wins. There are some big names out there battling for their playoff hopes – Kasey Kahne, Tony Stewart, Greg Biffle. If the Chase started today, only Biffle would make it among the three perennial Chasers.

So while this is not yet panic time, there’s a definite sense of urgency – with a big opportunity awaiting drivers on Sunday afternoon.  Continue reading

Kasey Hoping To Be A Dandy Kahne At Pocono

Kasey Kahne’s aggravation spilled with every word uttered in his post-race interview on ESPN following Sunday’s race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

In regards to needing a win to enter the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup, Kahne said:

“Yeah, no kidding. I know that. We have five more good tracks for us and six more races, so hopefully we can get one.”

In Dominating Fashion, Keselowski Picks Up New Hampshire Weekend Sweep

It seemed as there were no other drivers on the track Sunday at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Brad Keselowski absolutely stole the show as he held control for most of the afternoon. The win was his second in two days at “The Magic Mile” as he won the NASCAR Nationwide Series event in similar fashion on Saturday. Continue reading

In this short-form feature, FOX & Friends co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck will explore NASCAR spotter Chris Lambert’s inspirational story by showcasing the character and passion that makes him uniquely American. After losing his first wife and child in an automobile accident, Lambert rose from the tragedy to become one of NASCAR’s spotters. A spotter for Sprint Cup racer Denny Hamlin, Lambert acts as a “guardian angel” during each race by making sure all four corners of the racecar remain intact and out of danger. He has spent his entire career looking out for other’s and making sure they get back home safe and sound.
