Kwasniewski Earns Fourth Win – Hayley Claims Sixth Pole

NASCAR Next driver, Dylan Kwasniewski won his fourth K&N Pro Series event on Saturday, taking the checkered flag at the Biscuitville 125 at Virginia International Raceway. The 2012 K&N Pro Series West champion leads the East series standings by 28-points heading into the Labor Day event at Greenville Pickens Speedway.  Saturday’s win was the ninth K&N victory for Kwasniewski, spanning both series.

On the opposite end of the country, fellow NASCAR Next driver Cameron Hayley claimed his sixth K&N Pro Series West pole en route to a third place finish at the Toyota/NAPA Auto Parts 150 at Spokane County Raceway, an event won by teammate Greg Pursley.

This week will see the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour at Langley Speedway, The NASCAR Canadian Tire Series presented by Mobil 1 at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park in Bowmanville, Ont, and the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East will close out the holiday weekend with an event at Greenville.

Michael Self

Michael Self started racing go-carts at age 11, switched to racing open-wheel at age 16 and just two years later, he turned to racing late model stock cars.

In 2006, Self became a member of America’s Champ Car team at Rotax Grand Finals in Portugal and by 2007 he was a Champ Car Rotax Scholarship winner.

Self made his NASCAR debut in 2009 entering two races in the K&N Pro Series West/KNPSW and by 2010, in 12 races, he finished as runner-up for Rookie of the Year and eighth in the point standings. In 2011, Self followed up his rookie year by finishing seventh in the series’ point standings. 2012 brought three wins, eight top-fives and nine top-tens in 15 races, with Self finishing sixth in the series’ point standings.   Continue reading

Custer becomes youngest winner in NASCAR‘s K&N Pro Series History

Cole Custer didn’t just break records Friday night, he shattered them.

The Ladera Ranch, Calif., driver became the youngest winner in NASCAR K&N Pro Series history with his wire-to-wire win in the Pork Be Inspired 150 at Iowa Speedway. He became the first driver to lead every lap in the combination race between the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East and West. Continue reading
