Truck Series Set to Run 500th Race

311888The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series will run its 500th race this weekend – Saturday’s UNOH 175 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. The Camping World Truck Series began in 1995 and is in its 21st season of operation. Ron Hornaday Jr. has won the most Camping World Truck Series championships with four and 51 races. Mike Skinner earned the first series titles driving for legendary owner Richard Childress. Throughout its existence, many NASCAR stars have started their careers in the Camping World Truck Series, including Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Challengers Kevin Harvick, Carl Edwards, Kurt Busch, Kyle Busch, Jamie McMurray and Brad Keselowski. One of the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series’ youngest drivers struck a blow for old-school racing on Saturday morning at Chicagoland Speedway.

Stretching his fuel mileage beyond the capabilities of most of his of competitors, John Hunter Nemechek rolled across the finish line 12.014 seconds ahead of Tyler Reddick, who was also saving fuel, to score his first victory in the series in the American Ethanol E15 225. Continue reading

NASCAR Camping World Truck Series teams are on break and will return to action on Friday, September 18th at Chicagoland Speedway for the  American Ethanol E15 225. In the meantime, here are some news and notes to stay up-to-date.

Austin Powered: Theriault Piloting the No. 29 for Duration of 2015

Austin Theriault will take the reins of the No. 29 Brad Keselowski Racing Ford for the last eight races of the 2015 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series season. The 21-year-old Maine native has piloted the No. 29 five times already this year, earning two top-five and three top-ten finishes. Theriault’s best result was a fourth-place finish in the season opener at Daytona. The No. 29 has visited Victory Lane twice this year with Joey Logano at Martinsville and Ryan Blaney at Bristol. The No. 29 ranks sixth in the owner points standings. Continue reading

Big Weekend For Brad Keselowski Racing

It’s a big weekend for Brad Keselowski Racing as its team sponsor hosts Saturday’s Careers for Veterans 200 presented by Cooper Standard and Brad Keselowski’s Checkered Flag Foundation. Series points leader Tyler Reddick and NASCAR Next alum Ryan Blaney will represent the team in the No. 19 and No. 29 Fords. Reddick claims two wins this season and leads second-place Matt Crafton in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series points standings by 11. Blaney has made two Camping World Truck Series starts this year, finishing seventh at Dover and third at Kentucky. Continue reading
