Every time a driver enters a Talladega race, it’s like entering the lottery. There’s a long-shot at winning, but drivers believe they can since it’s the lottery and anything could happen. When the drivers take to the track this weekend at Talladega, fans expect to see a wild and unpredictable event. Any driver could come out on top and in the past, drivers who weren’t expected to win, won the race. Talladega is a wide-open race where anything and everything will happen. The delicious irony of Regan Smith’s victory in Saturday’s Aaron’s 312 NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Talladega Superspeedway wasn’t lost on the driver of the No. 7 JR Motorsports Chevrolet.

With a push from teammate Kasey Kahne, Smith roared out of the pack during the final 400 yards of a green-white-checkered-flag finish and won a race decided when NASCAR called the seventh and final caution an instant before the four cars battling for the win crossed the finish line. On Thursday, Jack Roush said that his driver line-up for 2013 at Roush Fenway Racing is a “dream team”. So will Roush Fenway Racing have a dream season?
