Hendrick Motorsports had a young stable of development drivers for the 2004 season.

Kyle Busch was running the full Busch Series schedule and kicked off his season with a win in the ARCA opener at Daytona. Bobby Gerhart Racing teamed up with Hendrick to run Blake Feese, Kyle Krisiloff, and Boston Reid in the team’s No. 5 car in select ARCA races. Michael Waltrip’s win in the 2001 Daytona 500 for his new team, Dale Earnhardt Inc. (DEI), began a stranglehold on the field at Daytona and Talladega. DEI went on to win ten of 13 Cup races on restrictor plate tracks from February 2001 to February 2004. Continue reading

Grant Enfinger Gets Another ARCA Win at Salem Speedway

For the third straight ARCA race this season, Grant Enfinger found himself in victory lane once again. The Alabama driver took advantage of leader Ken Schrader’s flat tire coming to white flag and picked up his third win in as many races in 2014.

Enfinger showed muscle early, leading the first 104 laps, picking up where he left off at Mobile back in March. Mason Mitchell assumed the race lead on lap 105, until the veteran Schrader found himself out in front. Enfinger dropped as low as fourth in the race, but worked his way back to second to battle with Schrader. Continue reading

Throwback Thursday – Reflecting on NASCAR’s Easter Weekend Races

All of NASCAR’s top three divisions will get the weekend off for the Easter holiday, but NASCAR is no stranger to racing on the Easter weekend. 

The last Cup race ran on Easter Sunday was at Richmond International Raceway on March 26, 1989. The original date in February was a wash due to snow and rescheduled for that date. Rusty Wallace went on to win that day, leading 88 laps. Continue reading
