The Hellmann’s 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race is the 1000th national series race for Toyota.
Here’s a By The Numbers look at the manufacturer’s presence in NASCAR. All stats are as of races prior to this weekend at Talladega.

1 – Number of Toyota driver championships in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (Kyle Busch, 2015) and the NASCAR XFINITY Series (Kyle Busch, 2009).

4 – Number of car owner titles Toyota has won in the NASCAR XFINITY Series (Joe Gibbs: 2008, ’09,’10 and ’12).

Note: With only one race remaining in this round, repeat winner would expand to mean any driver that has already been eliminated or any driver that is currently in a transfer spot (a spot where if the round was over today, would have moved on).

Possible to Clinch:

Christopher Bell (0 Wins, 2062 Points) – Would clinch on points with 23 Points (tenth and no laps led, 11th and led at least one lap, 12th and led most laps) and a new winner. If there is a repeat winner, would clinch on points with nine Points (24th and no laps led, 25th and led at least one lap, 26th and led most laps). With a win, would clinch a next round spot on wins. Note: Jimmie Johnson and Kevin Harvick have already clinched a spot in the Round of 8. With only one race remaining in this round, a new winner would be a win by Joey Logano, Austin Dillon, Denny Hamlin, Brad Keselowski or Chase Elliott. A win by any other driver would be considered a repeat winner for the clinching requirements (so, Johnson/Harvick, or a non-Chase driver, or a driver ahead of Logano in points).

Matt Kenseth (0 Wins, 3074 Points) – Would clinch on points with 13 Points (28th and no laps led, 29th and led at least one lap, 30th and led most laps) and a new winner. If there is a repeat winner,  would clinch on points with 11 Points (30th and no laps led, 31st and led at least one lap, 32nd and led most laps). With a win,  would clinch a next round spot on wins. Gilliland Becomes Youngest NASCAR Champ; Partridge Wins K&N West Finale
