LaJoie Picks Up First K&N Pro East Win Since 2012 at New Hampshire

Corey LaJoie returned to Victory Lane in dominating style Saturday night.

LaJoie led the final 34 laps and drove away from the field on a green-white-checkered finish to win the United Site Services 70 at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway. It was LaJoie’s first win since 2012 when he had five victories en route to a runner-up finish in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East. Continue reading

Dale Earnhardt Jr. will not compete in the July 17 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series event at New Hampshire Motor Speedway after experiencing concussion-like symptoms.

Earnhardt, driver of the No. 88 Chevrolet for Hendrick Motorsports, was evaluated this week in Charlotte and today was not cleared by physicians to race. Alex Bowman will be the team’s substitute driver this weekend at New Hampshire. Continue reading

Todd Gilliland Beats Noah Gragson to Line by 0.004 for K&N Pro West Win

They came across the finish line, two of NASCAR’s rising young stars, leaning on one another as sparks flew and sheet metal crunched Saturday night. They came across the finish line, two of NASCAR’s rising young stars, leaning on one another as sparks flew and sheet metal crunched Saturday night. In the end, it was 16-year-old Todd Gilliland who took the checkered flag in the Toyota NAPA 150 and celebrated in Victory Lane on the quarter-mile, after edging fellow NASCAR Next driver Noah Gragson by inches.

Gilliland crossed the finish line 0.004 seconds in front of the 17-year-old from Las Vegas. Continue reading

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, Quaker State 400 at Kentucky Preview

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series teams will race 400.5 miles over 267 laps in the Quaker State 400 presented by Advance Auto Parts on Saturday, July 9th at Kentucky Speedway. NBC Sports Network will begin their coverage at 6 pm ET with a green flag around 7:30 pm ET with radio coverage on PRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, channel 90.

Halfway, Next Time By

Tune in to the ‘Officials’ channel on the NASCAR Mobile app, and you’ll hear it at the midpoint of every race: ‘Halfway next time by.’ It’s a phrase that lets competitors know that on the next lap, the race is official.

As for the 2016 season, Kentucky is the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series’ halfway point. But we all know … it ain’t official until the champion raises the trophy in Miami.

But, this is a good time to reflect back on an incredible first half, one in which fans have taken notice for one fairly obvious reason – the racing is as good as its been in years – heck, maybe ever. Continue reading

Brand New Kentucky Speedway Awaits the NASCAR XFINITY Series

Crew chiefs can toss out their old notes because Kentucky Speedway underwent a full repave during the off-season and its new surface debuts this weekend when all three of NASCAR’s national series head to The Bluegrass State.

In addition to the repave, turns one and two had their banking increased from 14 to 17 degrees. The racing groove narrowed in the process. Turns three and four stay at 14 degrees. Continue reading
