Crew Member Suspended Due To Violation Of NASCAR Substance Abuse Policy

NASCARlogoEric Maycroft, a crew member in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, has been indefinitely suspended from NASCAR for violating the sanctioning body’s Substance Abuse Policy.

On Aug. 16, Maycroft was found to have violated Sections 12-1 (actions detrimental to stock car racing) and 19 (violation of the NASCAR Substance Abuse Policy) of the 2013 NASCAR Rule Book.

Devin Jones Journey from California to NASCAR

Devin Jones grew up in California, becoming one of the youngest IKF go-karting experts ever at the age of 11 and after winning two ‘Duffy’ Grand National Championships in the same year.  Amazingly he also earned WKA’s Grand National ‘Eagle’ and Gold Cup titles as the ‘most winning’ Cadet racer in Southern CA.

And that was just the beginning, inspiring this young racer to move his Devin Jones Racing team east to Moorseville, NC in 2007. Just after his 13th birthday, Jones began racing a Legend Car in the highly competitive series. In his first eight months of competition, Jones won eight races, with 36 top-fives, earning the honor of advancing from Semi-Pro to the Pro class, just two months before his 14th birthday celebration.  Continue reading

Bryan Ortiz: Promising Racing Career from Puerto Rico to NASCAR

Bryan Ortiz, a Puerto Rico native, is with Rev Racing and part of NASCAR‘s Drive for Diversity program for the third consecutive year in 2013.

Ortiz made his NASCAR K&N Pro Series East début at Bristol Motor Speedway in March 2012 and finished the season fifth in the overall standings and second in rookie points on the strength of nine top-ten finishes across the 14-race season. Ortiz was a three-time winner of the Sunoco Rookie of the Race Award and the season-long Coca-Cola Move of the Race Award. Continue reading
