Remember your first NASCAR Race as a kid and that bond you shared with your parents going to races together? Now is a great time to make your own cherished memories as Kids Drive NASCAR continues at Chicagoland Speedway this weekend.

Kids, young and old, are enjoying the first race weekend of the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 400 at the 1.5-mile track in Joliet, IL. There’s a good chance you remember watching and enjoying the cartoon series when you were a kid and like so many other iconic success stories, there’s a lot of joy in introducing your kids to what you found fun as a kid yourself.  Continue reading

Daniel Hemric to Drive for Richard Childress Racing in 2017

It’s been a banner weekend for Daniel Hemric at Chicagoland Speedway. In Friday night’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race, Hemric earned a career-best second place finish in the No. 19 DrawTite Ford for Brad Keselowski Racing. A model of consistency in the Truck Series in 2016, with eight top-five and 13 top-ten results, the Kannapolis, NC native earned a berth in the inaugural Truck Series Chase.

On Saturday morning, Richard Childress Racing announced they signed Hemric to a multi-year agreement to drive full-time in the NASCAR XFINITY Series beginning with the 2017 season. Continue reading

On the Outside, Cameron Hayley Still One to Watch in Inaugural Truck Series Chase

Coming into Chicagoland Speedway this weekend ThorSport Racing driver, Cameron Hayley knew he needed to win to get into the inaugural Chase for the NASCAR Camping World Truck championship. With results of 13th and 17th in the first two practices and a 20th-place qualifying effort for the American Ethanol E15 225, the No. 13 crew chief Eddie Troconis made wholesale changes to give his driver a chance at victory.

Despite starting at 20th, Hayley battled his way to the front to contend for the win in the closing laps of the event. He ran as high as second giving his team hope for a victory. But the veteran Kyle Busch, the eventual race winner effectively blocked Hayley’s faster Toyota, keeping from realizing that goal.  Continue reading

Kyle Busch Wins Chicagoland Truck Race as Inaugural Chase field is set

In a race punctuated by a record ten cautions, Kyle Busch streaked away from Chase hopeful Cameron Hayley in overtime and won Friday night’s American Ethanol E15 225 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Chicagoland Speedway.

With Busch’s victory over runner-up Daniel Hemric, who passed Hayley after the final restart on lap 150, Hemric and Timothy Peters locked up the final two of eight spots in the inaugural Camping World Truck Series Chase, which starts Sept. 24 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Continue reading

Cole Custer Grabs NASCAR XFINITY Series Ride in 2017 with Stewart Haas Racing

Custer will pilot the No. 00 with Haas Automation Sponsorship

There’s little doubt that Cole Custer is a talented NASCAR Next alumnus and a future star of NASCAR. Friday night at Chicagoland Speedway, he’ll be looking to earn a Camping World Truck Series victory to earn a place in their inaugural Chase for the championship title. Custer is now ninth in the series point standings, just outside the eighth-place cut off to qualify for the Chase.

Whether Custer makes the Chase or not, the future looks bright for this young 18-year-old driver from Ladera Ranch, CA. Earlier today Stewart Haas Racing announced that Custer will race the No. 00 in the XFINITY Series for the 2017 season. He’ll  turn 19 just before the season begins next February at Daytona International Speedway.  Continue reading
