Brad Keselowski, Chris Buescher Make it a Sweep in Daytona Duels for RFK Racing in the NASCAR Cup Series on Thursday night.
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Roush Fenway Keselowski teammates Brad Keselowski and Chris Buescher swept Thursday night for the Bluegreen Vacation Duels, but a last-lap collision in the second race wiped out then-frontrunner Joey Logano and spoiled a perfect night for the Ford Performance entries.
Three weeks in and the fireworks continued on Sunday at Homestead-Miami Speedway. After wins from Michael McDowell and Christopher Bell to start the season, of course, Chris Buescher would spoil the party and dominate the first stage. Buescher would end up slipping back into the field midway through the second stage, but William Byron would take over, winning the second stage and leading over 100 laps for a statement win at the 1.5-miler. There wasn’t much movement at the top of the rankings this week, but the middle and bottom saw some big shakeups.
William Byron earns his first win of the season in the NASCAR Cup Series Dixie Vodka 400 at Homestead Miami Speedway on Sunday night.
The NASCAR Cup Series remains in Florida one more week for Dixie Vodka 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway. This is always a highly anticipated race with action across the track. It did not disappoint on Sunday afternoon as fans witnessed multiple strategies play out for good and bad. Yesterday, Roush Fenway Racing told the racing world that Chris Buescher is returning to the organization to take the wheel of the No. 17 NASCAR Cup Series Ford in the 2020 season. Along with this revelation is the news that RFR is parting ways with Ricky Stenhouse JR at the end of the 2019 season.
Jay Husmann spoke with MSgt Craig Thurman along with Chris Buescher and Ryan Preece with JGT Daugherty Racing at Chicagoland Speedway. Listen to Fan4Racing NASCAR & Race Talk Review on Monday, July 1, 2019, to hear the audio of their conversation.
Thanks to a partnership between the USO (United Service Organizations) and Maxwell House, United States Air Force MSgt Craig Thurman visited Chicagoland Speedway for the Camping World 400 as a VIP. Maxwell House sponsored the JTG Daugherty Racing No. 37 Chevrolet ZL1 Camaro of Chris Buescher in the NASCAR Monster Energy Cup Series while the USO is an associate sponsor on both team cars, the No. 47 Kroger’s machine of rookie Ryan Preece as well. That deal included MSgt Thurman’s name on the right side just like the driver’s name on the left side.
