Kyle Busch on a Phenomenal Streak with Brickyard Win

…Kyle Busch screamed as he crossed the finish line at Indianapolis Motor Speedway and continued a run that has grown from extraordinary to downright other-worldly.

Holding off Kevin Harvick and Joey Logano during three late-race restarts, Busch beat Logano to the finish line by 0.332 seconds to win Sunday’s Crown Royal presents the Jeff Kyle 400 at The Brickyard.

The victory was Busch’s fourth in the last five NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races, all coming after an 11-event absence to start the season, the result of a broken right leg and left foot suffered in a crash during the Feb. 21 NASCAR XFINITY Series race at Daytona International Speedway. That simple statement hardly plumbs the depth of emotion Kyle Busch was feeling after winning Sunday’s Toyota/Save Mart 350 at Sonoma Raceway.

In the first-ever 1-2 finish in the series by the Busch brothers, Kyle Busch beat Kurt Busch to the finish line by .532 seconds to win for the first time since returning from an 11-race absence because of a broken right leg and left foot sustained in a Feb. 21 accident at Daytona International Speedway. Jimmie Johnson Wins Tenth NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Race at Dover

With his overtime victory in Sunday’s FedEx 400 benefiting Autism Speaks at Dover International Speedway, Johnson became the fifth driver to win ten NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races at a single track, joining Richard Petty, David Pearson, Darrell Waltrip and Dale Earnhardt Sr. in sharing that distinction.

Johnson’s triumph was his series-best fourth of the season and the 74th of his career, eighth most all-time and two behind NASCAR Hall of Famer Earnhardt in seventh place. Continue reading →

NASCAR Stars to Participate in Drive for Autism Golf Outing Prior to Dover Race Weekend

Before the “Monster Mile” heats up for May 29-31 race weekend, NASCAR drivers, broadcasters, personalities, and more will tee up in the annual “Drive for Autism” Celebrity Golf Outing.

Held each year in Wilmington, Delaware, drivers will exchange their steering wheels for a golf club to support a great cause. Many of today’s top competitors will be present on May 28th and will compete for the best score rather than a trip to Victory Lane. Continue reading →
