Adapting adroitly to a new competition package for NASCAR Sprint Cup Series cars, Kyle Busch sped to victory in Saturday night’s Quaker State 400 at Kentucky Speedway, taking a giant step toward the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup with his second victory since returning from an 11-race injury absence.

Busch won for the 31st time in his career and the second time at the 1.5-mile track. Race runner-up Joey Logano was the only interloper in a top-five that also included all four Joe Gibbs Racing drivers—Busch, Denny Hamlin in third, Carl Edwards in fourth and Matt Kenseth in fifth. Before the “Monster Mile” heats up for May 29-31 race weekend, NASCAR drivers, broadcasters, personalities, and more will tee up in the annual “Drive for Autism” Celebrity Golf Outing.

Held each year in Wilmington, Delaware, drivers will exchange their steering wheels for a golf club to support a great cause. Many of today’s top competitors will be present on May 28th and will compete for the best score rather than a trip to Victory Lane. Continue reading

Denny Hamlin Holds Off Harvick for Sprint All-Star Race Victory

With a deft move with three laps left in Saturday night’s NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race at Charlotte Motor Speedway, Denny Hamlin delivered the first victory in the non-points showcase event to Joe Gibbs Racing and to Toyota.

As he drove into turn one to start lap 107, with Kevin Harvick glued to his bumper and ready to make a run at the million-dollar first prize, Hamlin moved up a lane in the corner and took Harvick’s line away, causing Harvick’s No. 4 Chevrolet to lose momentum. Continue reading
