Kyle Busch Grabs Overtime XFINITY Win at Bristol

When Chris Buescher’s Ford faltered on a green-white-checkered restart on Friday night at Bristol Motor Speedway, Kyle Busch took full advantage, as is his custom.

In a Food City 300 that went to two laps of overtime at the .533-mile short track, Busch finished 0.427 seconds ahead of Kyle Larson, as Buescher faded to 11th after his car failed to pick up fuel off turn two of the next-to-last lap.

The victory was Busch’s third of the season in the NASCAR XFINITY Series, his eighth at Bristol and the 73rd of his career, extending his own series record. Continue reading →

Dash 4 Cash Round 3: Smith’s Million Dollar Chance

The third round of the NASCAR XFINITY Series Dash 4 Cash program rolls into Bristol Motor Speedway for the Food City 300 on August 21. Regan Smith, Daniel Suarez, Elliott Sadler and Ryan Blaney will compete for a $100,000 cash bonus this weekend. Smith, the winner of the first two rounds of the 2015 Dash 4 Cash program, can still win an extra $600,000 bonus at the end of the season. Smith will need to win this third round at Bristol for $100,000 and then win the Darlington race outright to claim another $100,000, which will then award him an extra $600,000 – bringing his total cash bonus winnings to $1 million dollars. Roush Fenway Racing’s NASCAR XFINITY Series lineup is full of young talent, with Darrell ‘Bubba’ Wallace Jr. competing for Sunoco Rookie of the Year Honors and second-year drivers Ryan Reed and Chris Buescher posting wins this season. Bolstering their strong lineup is veteran NASCAR driver Elliott Sadler.

Three Wins and Counting

Roush Fenway Racing is making moves in the XFINITY Series 12 races into this season. Ryan Reed with one and Chris Buescher with two, have three victories this season, the most wins for the organization since 2012 when Ricky Stenhouse Jr. with six and Carl Edwards with one, raked in seven victories.

The organization has its entire NASCAR XFINITY Series contingent on the rise with all four drivers in the top-ten point standings. Chris Buescher is the current leader, Darrell Wallace Jr ranks fifth, Elliott Sadler occupies the sixth spot and Ryan Reed mans the eighth position at this point of the season. Continue reading →

Chris Buescher wins on fuel-strategy at Dover after contact with teammate

Chris Buescher had enough fuel left at the end of Saturday’s Buckle Up 200 NASCAR XFINITY Series race at Dover International Speedway to do a celebratory burnout, but his No. 60 Roush Fenway Racing Ford wasn’t the only thing that was smoking after the checkered flag.

Yes, Buescher won for the second time this season and extended his lead in the series standings to 15 points over eighth-place finisher Ty Dillon, but his winning pass of teammate and Coors Light Polesitter Darrell “Bubba” Wallace Jr. left Wallace fuming.

Contact between the cars on Lap 191 of 200 cut the left front tire of Wallace’s No. 6 Ford and forced the car to pit road for an unplanned stop. Continue reading →
