New NASCAR Next Class Already Making Mark on Track

Five of the six NASCAR K&N Pro Series race winners in 2015 are 21 years old or younger. The championship points leaders in both the East and West are 17 and 16. And a 17-year-old just became the highest-finishing female in the 61-year history of the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West.

It is fitting that as fans celebrate Jeff Gordon’s final year of competition, the ranks of NASCAR is becoming filled with young drivers battling to one day fill that void. As debuts go, place a check in the success column when grading Athenian Motorsports’ driver Dylan Lupton’s first outing in the NASCAR Xfinity Series’ Axalta Faster Tougher Brighter 200 at Phoenix International Raceway.

The 21-year-old standout in the NASCAR K&N West Series admitted to being somewhat nervous on Friday afternoon at Phoenix when he realized he was about to experience a life-long dream by racing on the same track with the likes of Daytona 500 champions Joey Logano, Matt Kenseth and Kevin Harvick.  Continue reading →

K&N West Bakersfield 150 at Kern County Raceway Preview

The NASCAR K&N Pro Series West will make its second visit to Kern County Raceway Park on Saturday, August 30th for the Bakersfield 150 presented by GPS. Points leader Greg Pursley won the spring race from the pole and returns to the track with a 25-point advantage over second-place NASCAR Next driver Dylan Lupton. Pursley also won the inaugural event at Kern County last year.
