The XFINITY Series will be off the next two weekends as the teams regroup and will return to action on May 27th at Charlotte Motor Speedway for the Hisense 4K TV 300 (on FS1 at 1 p.m. ET). That race will kick-off an 18-week stretch of racing. The next off week won’t be until after series comes back to Charlotte in October. Continue reading

Aric Almirola Powers to NASCAR XFINITY Series Win at Talladega

Aric Almirola charged into the lead with four laps left in Saturday’s Sparks Energy 300 at Talladega Superspeedway and held off Elliott Sadler at the finish to win the third NASCAR XFINITY Series race of his career.

With the Ford of Darrell Wallace Jr. plowing into the inside backstretch wall behind him on the final lap, Almirola held the top spot to the finish, beating Sadler, the series leader, to the finish line by 0.142 seconds. Continue reading

Finish Line Placement Requires Different Timing at Talladega

There are several marked differences between Talladega Superspeedway and its sister restrictor-plate track, Daytona International Speedway.

For one thing, Daytona has tighter corners. Handling is more or an issue at the Birthplace of Speed. At Daytona, driving double-file through the corners is about all most drivers care to risk, whereas at Talladega, with its sweeping turns and higher banking, three-and four-wide is possible without calamity. Wallace Tries to Continue Strong Start at Talladega

Darrell Wallace Jr. really likes the number six.

One, he’s the No. 6 Ford driver. Two, he’s finished sixth in six of his eight starts in the NASCAR XFINITY Series this season. Three, he’s finished sixth in his last two races at Talladega Superspeedway – the site of Saturday’s Sparks Energy 300 – where Wallace will attempt to post his first top-five result of the season. NASCAR XFINITY Series Sparks Energy 300 at Talladeg

NASCAR XFINITY Series Teams are about to take to the track for the Sparks Energy 300 at Talladega Superspeedway on Saturday, May 6th. Television coverage is on FOX at 12:30 pm ET, with the race start at 1 pm ET. Radio coverage is on MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.

Drivers will race a distance of 300.58 miles over 113 laps with Stage 1 ending on lap 25 and Stage 2 on lap 50. The final stage ends of the last lap 113. Continue reading
