Justin Haley’s first trip to Talladega Superspeedway turned out to be one for the ages. Haley, in his first-ever plate-track start, went from the back to the front in the No. 28 MDM Motorsports Toyota to win the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards General Tire 200 Saturday afternoon. Since 2008, ARCA Racing Series driver, Tom Hessert III has finished inside the top-ten series point standings every single year – but that may not happen in 2017. This season Hessert is sharing his No. 25 Venturini Motorsports car with newcomer, Raphael Lessard.

Hessert is returning to the track at Talladega Superspeedway this weekend, after taking the pole and finishing fourth in the ARCA season opener at Daytona. Last year, he finished his career best season, second in the series point standings.  Continue reading →

Gus Dean Scores First ARCA Win in the General Tire 200 at Talladega Superspeedway

Driver of the No. 98 GREE Chevrolet for Mason Mitchell Motorsports (MMM), Gus Dean earned his first career ARCA win in the General Tire 200 at the 2.66 mile Talladega Superspeedway.

The Bluffton, South Carolina native selected the outside line for the afternoon’s final restart coming with four to go. Veteran Tommy Hessert gave Dean a big push down the backstretch pulling him even with Josh Williams. A wreck behind the leaders would end the race and send the ARCA officials to the video monitor which declared Dean as the race winner. Continue reading →

Christopher Bell Battles his Way to Victory in ARCA Debut at Salem Speedway

As if racing at Salem Speedway in his first ARCA Racing Series event wasn’t exciting enough, 21-year-old, Christopher Bell with Venturini Motorsports battled his way to victory in the Kentuckiana Ford Dealers 200 on Sunday afternoon. The win was not an easy task for the Bell, who also drives for Kyle Busch Motorsports in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.

Bell battled through a slick track with oil dry in the top groove, a shove from fellow competitor Justin Haley and a loss of power to win his debut race at Salem Speedway.  Continue reading →
