Chevrolet, Ford Win Battles, Who Wins the War?

Speedweeks at Daytona International Speedway covers ten days and encompasses many different events leading up to the Great American Race, the Daytona 500.  On the NASCAR Monster Energy Cup Series side of racing, the first focus is a week before the main event with Pole Qualifying followed by the Advanced Auto Parts Clash featuring select drivers.  Then in the week leading up to the biggest event in racing, the Gander RV Duel set the starting lineup for the prestigious race this Sunday.

Gander RV Duel Races Set for Thursday Night

With the Daytona 500 Qualifying now in the books, only two drivers are set for the front row starting lineup for Sunday’s Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series season opener at Daytona International Speedway. Hendrick Motorsports driver William Byron won the Busch Pole Award with his teammate, Alex Bowman taking the second spot on the front row when the green flag drops.

Jimmie Johnson Wins Rain-Shortened Clash after Massive Wreck

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Jimmie Johnson, who had crashed in the past six running of the Advance Auto Parts Clash at Daytona International Speedway, found a way to win the 2019 version of the season-opening exhibition race—by helping to trigger a wreck that eliminated nearly everyone else.
