Nationwide Series’ Kentucky 300 Preview

Pit strategy enables Matt Kenseth to Sprint Cup Series best – a fourth win

After postponing the Quaker State 400 from Saturday night to Sunday afternoon, due to rain at Kentucky Speedway, Matt Kenseth and his team raced to their fourth victory of the season.

On a restart on lap 247 – 20 laps short of the race total – Kenseth took advantage of a spin by the race’s dominant #48 car with Jimmie Johnson.  Kenseth took over the lead by taking no tires during his earlier pit stop on lap 242, collecting his 28th career victory. Continue reading

Keselowski Wins Feed the Children 300 at Kentucky

Typically burnouts are not done when its raining, but that didn’t keep Brad Keselowski from trying, after winning the Feed the Children 300 at Kentucky Speedway on Friday night.

After a rain delay, NASCAR declared Brad Keselowski the winner, 30 laps short of the scheduled finish.  And despite the rain, Keselowski did donuts on a wet slippery frontstretch  without the usual smoke cloud signaling his victory celebration.  Continue reading

Ty Dillon Picks Up Second Truck Series Win

Picking up his second series win, Ty Dillon did exactly what he did to get his first win, by passing Kyle Busch for the lead in the closing laps of the race.

By the end of the race, Dillon crossed the finished line 5.736 seconds ahead of Brad Keselowski, winning Thursday night’s UNOH 225 at Kentucky Speedway. Kyle Busch finished third, followed by 2012 series champion James Buescher and Ryan Blaney. Continue reading
