The inductees, who will be officially enshrined on Jan. 19 (8 p.m. ET on NBCSN, MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio), are Red Byron, Ray Evernham, Ron Hornaday Jr., Ken Squier and Robert Yates.

Ken Squier, the man who coined the phrase “The Great American Race” to describe the Daytona 500 will formally join NASCAR’s “Greatest” later this week. The co-founder of Motor Racing Network (MRN) and longtime voice of the sport will become the first broadcaster among the Hall of Fame’s legendary list of inductees. Continue reading →

Longtime NASCAR Broadcaster Eli Gold Resigns From MRN Radio

Longtime NASCAR broadcaster Eli Gold has resigned from the Motor Racing Network, the company’s president David Hyatt confirmed to CATCHFENCE.com

Gold’s nearly 40-year tenure at MRN Radio dated back to the 1976 World 600 at Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway, where he covered Turns 1 and 2 for the network.

In addition to his duties at MRN, the 62-year-old Gold had been hosting the weekly syndicated show NASCAR Live since 1982. Continue reading →

International Speedway Corporation today announced a new partnership with DraftKings, a leading daily fantasy sports destination. DraftKings will serve as the ‘Official Daily Fantasy Sports Provider’ of ISC motorsports entertainment facilities.

At ISC facilities across the U.S., tracks will feature DraftKings branding and give on-site opportunities for fan engagement. ISC will communicate DraftKings NASCAR daily fantasy sports games through event-day announcements, broadcast, digital and social channels and through a significant presence on MRN, the nation’s largest independent sports network.
