Buescher to Roush Fenway’s No. 17 in 2020; Team is Parting Ways with Stenhouse Jr.

Yesterday, Roush Fenway Racing told the racing world that Chris Buescher is returning to the organization to take the wheel of the No. 17 NASCAR Cup Series Ford in the 2020 season. Along with this revelation is the news that RFR is parting ways with Ricky Stenhouse JR at the end of the 2019 season.

Stenhouse Jr and Roush-Fenway Racing Putting Focus on the Bigger Picture

Roush Fenway Racing driver, Ricky Stenhouse Jr picked up his first NASCAR Monster Energy Cup Series win at Talladega in the spring of 2017 and followed it up with another victory at Daytona in July that same year.  Since then, the No. 17 Fastenal Ford has been considered a favorite on the superspeedways but the Roush Fenway team is looking to elevate their entire program back to their championship contending form.  It just takes steps and time.

Chevrolet, Ford Win Battles, Who Wins the War?

Speedweeks at Daytona International Speedway covers ten days and encompasses many different events leading up to the Great American Race, the Daytona 500.  On the NASCAR Monster Energy Cup Series side of racing, the first focus is a week before the main event with Pole Qualifying followed by the Advanced Auto Parts Clash featuring select drivers.  Then in the week leading up to the biggest event in racing, the Gander RV Duel set the starting lineup for the prestigious race this Sunday.
