Recently, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and Danica Patrick announced publicly that they are now dating as they head into their Sprint Cup Rookie seasons. In turn, many members of the media have written about the new relationship between competitors. But this topic raises a question, how far is too far in covering an athlete’s personal life? Where do you draw the line?

NASCAR’s Mile-and-a-Half Track Dilemma

Many NASCAR fans feel the Sprint Cup Series has an excess number of mile-and-a-half tracks on the schedule. Mile-and-a-half tracks don’t seem to feature the close, competitive racing that super speedways, short tracks and road courses have offered fans. NASCAR is always looking for fan input on the series, but one suggestion it seems is not being addressed, is that some fans are no longer wanting as many mile-and-a-half tracks on the schedule. Texas Motor Speedway Thinks Outside of Racing

Texas Motor Speedway put on an event that was bigger than NASCAR this past weekend, including a “wild asphalt circus,” an election and a full-blown carnival. It was one of the best marketing strategies I have ever seen.

Eddie Gossage, president of Texas Motor Speedway, and his team have been known for coming up with crazy ideas to get fans to the race track and last weekend included the best one yet.
