The Monster Energy Cup Series held its elimination race yesterday at Kansas Speedway. After a tame Talladega race from the week prior, yesterday’s race was an opportunity for a few drivers to race their way into the next round of the playoffs.

Talladega Superspeedway hosted the second race in the Round of 12 section of Monster Energy Cup Series playoffs. It was a ‘do or die’ type of day for some teams on the verge of being eliminated from the playoffs. Talladega’s unknowns gave these teams an uneasy feeling heading into this race weekend. The opening race for the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series’ second round of the playoffs was held at Dover International Speedway. With a new round beginning, it was no time to waste for any of the drivers remaining in the playoffs. With Talladega next week, we all know the variables that race track possesses to ruin any team’s plan on winning.
