Harvick kicks-off playoffs with a victory in the NASCAR Cup Series Cook Out Southern 500 on Saturday, September 6th at Darlington Raceway.

The NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs are officially underway. The first Round of 16 is running at three extremely different tracks. They begin this past Sunday night at Darlington Raceway, then the series is heading to Richmond Raceway, before ending at Bristol Motor Speedway. When these three races are complete, four drivers at the bottom of the standings are put below the cutline and no longer eligible for championship contention.

Almirola earns a Playoff berth for the third time in the NASCAR Cup Series with Stewart Haas Racing. The Round of 16 starts at Darlington Raceway.

After spending the majority of his career driving the Richard Petty Motorsports No. 43 car, Aric Almirola took his talents to Stewart-Haas Racing in 2018. The Tampa, Florida native immediately saw results, as he qualified for the playoffs then, with a win at Talladega he was able to advance to the Round of 8 for the first time in his career.

Matt DiBenedetto is set to make his first NASCAR Cup Series playoff appearance at Darlington Raceway on Sunday, September 6th.

As the checkered flag was falling on the Coke Zero Sugar 400 at Daytona International Speedway last Saturday night, one driver most certainly was breathing a huge sigh of relief.  Matt DiBenedetto, the driver of the No. 21 Wood Brothers Racing Ford is in the 2020 NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs.  In his post-race interview, he talks about how mentally exhausting the pressure cooker of a race was for him.
