Fans waited through rain, wrecks, and a nail-biting green-white-checker finish to witness an incredible victory by the underdog, David Ragan. No one was talking about Ragan until the last lap when he emerged at the front of the field with drafting help from his teammate, David Gilliland. Both the David’s shot to the lead and blocked everyone else to make sure that Front Row Motorsports got to victory lane. They were successful and FRM got to celebrate their first Sprint Cup victory. Every time a driver enters a Talladega race, it’s like entering the lottery. There’s a long-shot at winning, but drivers believe they can since it’s the lottery and anything could happen. When the drivers take to the track this weekend at Talladega, fans expect to see a wild and unpredictable event. Any driver could come out on top and in the past, drivers who weren’t expected to win, won the race. Talladega is a wide-open race where anything and everything will happen. Denny Hamlin will race this weekend. How Much? That is still  unknown, but Hamlin has been medically cleared to get back in the race car for this weekend. This is the first time Denny Hamlin will get in a race car since his wreck at Auto Club Speedway over four weeks ago.

Denny Hamlin tweeted earlier this week that he would be getting back in the race car, only to have NASCAR say they do not have medical clearance from doctors. Well, last night NASCAR confirmed that Denny Hamlin has been medically cleared by doctors to race this weekend at Talladega Superspeedway. Continue reading

Talladega Superspeedway fans are known for being patriotic, but this Sunday they will have more reason to feel proud to be an American a historic flyover takes them back to the earlier days of the speedway.

Two combat veteran T-28 Trojan aircraft from the Museum of Flight, Chattanooga’s Aviation Museum (TN) will soar above Talladega Superspeedway near the conclusion of the National Anthem to the road of thousands of fans, minutes before the start of the Aaron’s 499 Sprint Cup Series Race at NASCAR’s Most Competitive Track.
