NASCAR Sprint Cup Series teams will race 400.5 miles over 267 laps in the Quaker State 400 presented by Advance Auto Parts on Saturday, July 9th at Kentucky Speedway. NBC Sports Network will begin their coverage at 6 pm ET with a green flag around 7:30 pm ET with radio coverage on PRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, channel 90.

Halfway, Next Time By

Tune in to the ‘Officials’ channel on the NASCAR Mobile app, and you’ll hear it at the midpoint of every race: ‘Halfway next time by.’ It’s a phrase that lets competitors know that on the next lap, the race is official.

As for the 2016 season, Kentucky is the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series’ halfway point. But we all know … it ain’t official until the champion raises the trophy in Miami.

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, Coke Zero 400 at Daytona Preview

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series teams are at Daytona International Speedway for the second time this season as the series starts counting down last ten races before the Chase begins at Chicagoland Speedway in September.  On Saturday, July 2nd they’ll race 400 miles over 160 laps in the Coke Zero 400 powered by Coca-Cola with NBC coverage starting at 7 pm ET and a green flag at 7:45 pm ET. Radio coverage is available on MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, channel 90.

Smoke Show: Stewart Fires Up Win at Sonoma

Even Smokey the Bear couldn’t have prevented the fire performance Tony Stewart produced in Sunday’s Toyota / Save Mart 350.

Stewart, who paced the field for 22 circuits, lost the lead to Denny Hamlin on the last lap, but moved him off the 11th turn to win his first race since June 2, 2013 at Dover – 110 events ago. The triumph marked Stewart’s first win in 84 starts. Continue reading

Tony Stewart Seventh in Strong Weekend at Michigan International Speedway

Credit it to a good car or a lower downforce package, one thing is for sure Tony Stewart was all smiles Sunday afternoon following a season-best seventh place finish in the 48th annual FireKeepers Casino 400.

The Stewart-Haas Racing co-owner and driver qualified a superb third on Friday afternoon and was able to transform the speed into the 200-mile race Sunday afternoon, running as high as third, but eventually finishing seventh. Continue reading

Dale Earnhardt Jr, Kyle Busch Prevail in Can-Am Duel at Daytona

Retaking the lead with five laps left in the first of Thursday night’s Can-Am Duel 150-mile qualifying races, Dale Earnhardt Jr. cruised to a dominating victory and grabbed the third staring spot for Sunday’s Daytona 500.

In the second Duel, reigning NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion Kyle Busch took the checkered flag under caution after a wild last-lap wreck took out the cars of Jimmie Johnson, Martin Truex Jr., Matt Kenseth, AJ Allmendinger and Danica Patrick and damaged the No. 41 Chevrolet of Kurt Busch.

Kenseth will go to a backup car and start from the rear in the Daytona 500, surrendering the second starting spot he earned during last Sunday’s time trials. Continue reading
