Matt Kenseth may have won Saturday’s Kansas Lottery 300 NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Kansas Speedway, but Kyle Busch and Brad Keselowski provided the most explosive fireworks in a wild race that featured 11 cautions in 200 laps.
Kenseth pulled away after a restart with five laps left and won going away, as Paul Menard edged Regan Smith for second on the last lap. Busch ran fourth after causing the last caution by sending Keselowski into the fence on Lap 188. Continue reading →
The rest of the season starts Sunday. Race one in the Chase for the Sprint Cup will try to take center stage this weekend as it clearly has not been the talk of the garage. 13 drivers will embark on their championship pursuit and having a good race is integral to winning the title. One slip up at Chicagoland Speedway could cost any driver their hopes for the rest of the Chase. With so much on the line, anything can and will happen.
The GEICO 400 will go green on Sunday, September 15, 2013 at around 2:16 PM ET. Each one of the 267 laps and 400.5 miles will matter in determining who gets a crucial jump on this year’s Chase. Chicagoland Speedway is host to the Nationwide Series drivers and their Dollar General 300 Powered by Coca-Cola race on Saturday, September 14th. Television coverage begins at 3:30 pm ET on ESPN2 with radio coverage on MRN, Sirius XM radio, channel 90 for all 300 miles and a total of 200 laps.

NASCAR’s Nationwide Series teams head to Atlanta Motor Speedway for the Great Clips/Grit Chips 300 race on Saturday, August 31st. Television coverage begins at 7 pm ET on ESPN2 with radio coverage on PRN, Sirius XM channel 90.
In a points battle too close to call, Nationwide Series contenders are swapping the points lead, among the drivers near the top of the standings. Sam Hornish Jr is watching his narrow advantage over the rest of the field shrink further after Friday’s Bristol race.
Finishing third at Bristol, Austin Dillon followed Kyle Busch and Brad Keselowski to jump from fourth to second in the point standings. Hornish’s 13-point advantage over Elliott Sadler is now at six points over Dillon with only ten races left in the season. Sadler who now sits 11 markers behind Hornish, dropped to third.
